![]() ![]() A little more bandwidth over DP allows for 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for 4K HDR. I’ve learned that TB3 to DisplayPort is the way to go, not HDMI 2.0. Ī year later, and a member has asked me about my luck streaming 4K HDR from Netflix. Apple just doesn't want to support the codecs, if you want o read more about it or watch a video go to this page. So while I am able to get some 4K HDR content playing on YouTube through Chrome, I cannot watch any HDR content on Netflix nor can I watch any of my 4K HDR movies in HDR (only in 4K). HDMI 2.0 is the way to go, however, no Mac in existence can playback 4K HDR content from YouTube (on Safari), Netflix, or MKV files. Not sure if that will change with the DP adapter/cable. Has anyone had any luck playing back 4K HDR content over a USB-C/TB3 to Displayport cable/adapter?Ĭurrently, I can only get 1080P HDR content with HDMI 2.0. ![]()
